The first quarter of the year has been full of growth, reflection, and valuable lessons. With new business ideas, small wins, and a few lost opportunities, this period has been a mix of challenges and breakthroughs. Here’s a look at some of the key lessons learned in personal growth and business that are shaping my next steps.
Building Better Habits

Success is rooted in daily habits. I’ve been more intentional about structuring my days, focusing on consistency over intensity. Small, daily actions compound over time, whether in fitness, productivity, or personal development. The key is sustainability—making habits work for me rather than burning out trying to do too much at once. I am aiming for a daily run and early morning meditation, and so far, ebbing and flowing due to time constraints but progressing in frequency each day that passes. There’s something about having a date with the sun that makes life a tiny bit more exciting to wake up to.
Applying What You Learn

Learning without action is wasted potential. I’ve made it a priority to immediately apply what I read, watch, or study. Whether it’s implementing a marketing strategy or refining my networking approach, execution is the true measure of learning. I have found that I learn best by teaching, so I outpour onto anyone who asks and give away as much as I remember in order to retain it.
Seek Support Outside of Friends and Family

While personal circles offer emotional support, business and personal growth often require external perspectives. Engaging with coaches, industry peers, and professional communities has broadened my outlook and accelerated progress.
Open Up to Others

I’ve realized that keeping ideas and struggles bottled up doesn’t serve me. Opening up to trusted people has led to valuable insights and unexpected support. Vulnerability isn’t weakness; it’s a strength that invites collaboration and new opportunities.
Authenticity is magnetic. In business and life, people connect with realness. Being honest about challenges and setbacks has deepened my relationships and created space for meaningful conversations. It’s okay to not have everything figured out.
Do It Afraid
In January, I quit my full-time job to pursue my online business which has been much easier and much harder than I expected Fear is a natural response to growth, but it shouldn’t dictate action. Every successful step I’ve taken this quarter happened despite uncertainty. The key is moving forward anyway, whether it’s launching an idea, making a big decision, or stepping outside my comfort zone.
Forgive Yourself
When I began my personal growth journey , I had read about how hard it was to do the shadow work, but honestly, I had no idea. It has been an intense rollercoaster of emotions as I unravel unwanted habits and behaviors.
Perfection is a myth. Mistakes are part of progress. Instead of dwelling on what didn’t go as planned, I’ve learned to acknowledge, adjust, and keep moving. Self-compassion is crucial for resilience.
Allow Mentors to Pour Into You

I met with Roy Kirchner to discuss marketing and entrepreneurship and I can say this human is inspiring and awesome.
Guidance from experienced mentors has been invaluable. Seeking and accepting wisdom from those who’ve walked the path before me has helped me to avoid unnecessary pitfalls and accelerate progress.
Show Up and Follow Up
Approaching a visit to the Poke Company with a strategy made the visit fun, lighthearted, and efficient.
Thanks to following up and connecting we landed a wonderful collab with @coffeeme
Opportunities come to those who are present and proactive. Simply showing up—whether online, at events, or in conversations—has led to unexpected connections and business possibilities. Following up has been just as crucial in turning initial interactions into real relationships.
Listen, Absorb, and Act
Neutrogena’s Juicy campaign started moving fast and the PR package came at the perfect time to review and help you monetize.
The best insights come from listening. Paying attention to feedback, market trends, and even casual conversations has sparked some of my best ideas. But listening alone isn’t enough—action is where change happens.
A solid strategy prevents unnecessary chaos. While flexibility is important, having a roadmap ensures I stay on track. Planning has saved me from wasted time and misaligned efforts.
Protect Your Time
My friend Christina at Softtouch Laser Hair Removal was kind enough to invite me to the Charity Polo Classic 501c(3).
Time is the most valuable asset. I’ve become more mindful of distractions, unnecessary commitments, and energy-draining activities. Protecting my time means saying no when necessary and prioritizing what truly moves the needle.
Don’t Get Stuck Doing Too Much of One Thing

Balance is key. Whether it’s work, learning, or networking, I’ve learned that over-focusing on one area can cause stagnation in others. Diversifying efforts keeps momentum flowing. Working with other professionals in the creative space has reignited my creativity and has helped me get “unstuck” in more ways than I imagined.
Trust, but Verify
Not every opportunity or piece of advice is worth taking at face value. I’ve learned to do my due diligence, ask the right questions, and validate information before making decisions.
Your Network is Your Net Worth
The connections built this quarter have reinforced the power of networking. Genuine relationships—not just transactional ones—are the foundation of long-term success. The right people can open doors that skills alone cannot. Thank you to everyone who opened their doors, set aside some time, and helped this quarter’s efforts.
